Vinyl: Cutting and Application Instructions
Vinyl cutting with a Cricut machine
- Place vinyl liner side down on Cricut StandardGrip Mat.
- Select the images and size and load the rug into the machine.
- Please refer to the Kiss Cut Guide below to adjust your machine settings.
- Press the flashing Go button.
Preparation with Cricut Transfer Tape
- Remove the negative pieces from each of the images leaving the clear liner intact. This process is called weeding. Using a weeding tool found in a Cricut basic tool kit or weeding tool set can make this process quicker and easier.
- Remove the transfer tape liner.
- Gently lay the transfer tape (adhesive side down) over your images. To avoid bubbles, start in the center and work your way to the edges. Use a craft stick or cricut scraper to buff (rub or buff) the tape onto the vinyl.
- Peel off the vinyl liner at a 45 degree angle. If the vinyl doesn't separate from the liner, simply buff the transfer tape onto the vinyl and peel again.
App
- Make sure your project surface is clean and dry. Carefully position the transfer tape with vinyl images on your surface as you want them to appear.
- Now buff the transfer tape onto the surface, starting in the center and moving out to the edges. Use a craft stick or Cricut Scraper.
- Peel the transfer tape off the vinyl at a 45 degree angle. If the vinyl sticks to the transfer tape, simply buff the vinyl onto the surface again. Then continue peeling the transfer tape from the vinyl.
