How to sublimate Ceramic mugs with gender symbol handle?
Sublimation times and temperatures are for reference only and may vary depending on the press, paper, inks, or environment. It is recommended to run tests before production.
- 1.- Do the printing in mirror mode.
- 2.- It is advisable to let dry the paper for 5 minutes.
- 3.- Preheat the press to 185º.
- 4.- Place the paper correctly above the mug and fix it with heat tape. Then, put it on the press with a resistance of 11 oz.
- 5.- Close the press for 180 seconds and make pressure over the mug.
- 6.- Once this time has passed, with the help of protective gloves, take out the mug of the press and then remove the paper.
- 7.- Leave cool the mug for a few minutes.

I have made the sublimation with an image with flat colors and they come out gradients.
Spot color printing is the most difficult, and they are also sensitive to any irregularities on the surface of the mug. A possible solution would be the use of a silicone sheet, which would help to adapt to these irregularities and achieve a more uniform impression. This silicone sheet goes especially well with spoon cups, beer mugs etc...
The print on the sides has gradient colors.
First, make sure that when you fold the paper at the top, it has not left a small space that has caused the gradient. Another reason is that the resistance that is being used is already very old and should be replaced. It must be remembered that a resistance has a durability of about 600 cups. In the event that it has not been solved with either of these 2 methods, it is advisable to crop the image on the sides.
The print on the mug has white dots or lines.
These small marks are produced because a speck of dust has been left on the surface between the cup and the paper. It is important to clean the plate and the surface of the mug well before doing the sublimation.
